Board of Directors
Mr. Walden has served over forty years in corporate human resources working for worldwide companies such as Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, Revlon, Inc., and Acme Engineering & Manufacturing Corporation. In addition to his many responsibilities managing thousands of employees, Mr. Walden has also led various efforts for charitable causes.
He is currently a Director on the boards of First National Bank of Muskogee and Greater Muskogee Development Corporation.
Mr. Walden holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois.
Teresa AdairExecutive Director
As Executive Director, Teresa is responsible for all aspects of policy and partnerships for the Foundation. She has a passion for hospice and an admiration for the people who support it. Teresa has been involved with the Crossroads Hospice family since inception in 1995. Starting as a volunteer coordinator, she worked closely with the founders of Crossroads and the Tulsa community to create a volunteer program for the company. Teresa’s responsibilities grew as Crossroads grew, including human resources, benefits programs and corporate insurance policies. She has also managed the Ultimate Gift program and worked closely with Jim Stovall and staff to coordinate efforts of both organizations.
Dr. James BarberBoard Member
Dr. Barber has an extensive background in faith-based studies and teachings. He served as an assistant pastor at churches in Rockwall, TX and Tulsa, OK for eleven years, and as Chaplain and Director of Crossroads Hospice of Oklahoma for seven years.
Since 2001, Dr. Barber has served as an Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Oral Roberts University, Graduate School of Theology and Ministry. He assists with the FED program, equipping men and women to serve practically in ministerial roles in the church, and para-church organizations.
In addition, Dr. Barber is an author and teaches classes in the STM residential and modular formats.
He serves on several ministry boards, and, with his wife, Adeline, provides community outreach to the poor and homeless in the Tulsa area. They have also participated in missionary work in Mexico, Russia, India, and Fiji.
Dr. Baber holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Oral Roberts University.
Deborah VaughtBoard Member
Mrs. Vaught has worked for 30 years in human resources management, and owned an international manufacturing company. Her experience has all been “people related” and she has been active in many projects within her community.
Mrs. Vaught retired several years ago to relocate to Dubai with her husband. She now resides in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Hobbies include golf, community outreach, and mosaic.
Rhonda ScocosBoard Member
Ms. Scocos has been involved with non-profit organizations for 35 years. Currently the Director of Life Care Services, under the umbrella of Arrow Heights Baptist Church, she is expanding the organization to pick up where community social services leave off by providing resources to clients who will use them to improve their way of life and begin the journey toward becoming responsible, independent, contributing members of society.
She is a Board member of Christian Association of Psychological Studies (CAPS) and on the steering committee of Life Launch, a non-profit organization that seeks to help aging-out foster children transition into adulthood.
Ms. Scocos has a BSW from Northeastern State University, Broken Arrow, OK. She has three grown sons and currently resides in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
